Apply To Online Colleges

Oh, the difference 10 years makes!  In 1998, the Internet was virtually brand new and Microsoft had just released its second mainstream operating system, Windows 98.  Ten years later, the Internet has opened the door to being able to earn a degree online!  Online colleges has opened the door to many people who would otherwise be excluded.  The benefits of attending an online college are obvious.  It provides flexibility and lets you work your education around your busy life, instead of the other way around.  Also, it can cost considerably less since room and board is not an issue.  If you are interested in finding out how to apply to online colleges, here is some information on two of the top online universities: AIU Online and ITT Technical Institute Online.

We’ll start with the college which I personally attend: American Intercontinental University Online.  AIU Online is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  Courses are offered which allow you to earn your associate’s or bachelor’s degree in as little as 13 months.  The areas of study offered at AIU Online are accounting and finance, business administration, criminal justice, education, healthcare management, human resources, information technology, marketing, management, and visual communication.

The brick-and-mortar institution they originated from (in Hoffman Estates, IL) has been around for nearly 35 years.  They have a strong support system, friendly professors, and very flexible scheduling.  They have a very user-friendly user interface and assignments are due once a week.   Those looking to apply to online colleges should give serious consideration to this great school.  AIU Online is a terrific opportunity for anyone wishing to further their education.  For more information on the application process, visit www.aiuonline.edu.

There are many options to take hold of your financial future at ITT Technical Institute.  They offer a quality learning experience with tremendous flexibility.  Based in Indianapolis, they also now provide two baccalaureate degrees and one master of business administration (MBA) degree along with their professional degree programs.  The courses they offer focus on the business, criminal justice, and technology.  ITT has online courses offered through 80 nationwide campuses and let you fine tune and broaden your skills in pursuit of a technology career.  Common programs selected by prospective students include Business Accounting Technology, Information Technology, and Technical Project Management.

To meet the qualification requirements, you must first have a high school diploma or equivalent, complete and pass the admissions process (including an interview and/or written test).  There may be other application requirements based on the college you choose.  If you want to apply to online colleges and you didn’t find what you were looking for in any of the above options, don’t lose heart.  There are many other quality universities out there.  Baker Online, Capella University Online, Colorado Technical University Online, The University of Phoenix, and Westwood College Online are only a few of the many other options.  So get out there, do some serious research, and then decide what’s right for you!
